One of two blog posts I read for the Dallas County Community College District Blog. In it, I wrote about why I chose Journalism as my major in a time where the credibility of journalists was being deemed “fake news.”
Excerpt: I am a journalism major currently attending Mountain View College. There are often misconceptions about what I aspire to do when I tell others about it. When they hear ‘journalism’ they automatically think politics or weather reporting. Often, I hear, “make sure you report the real news” or “you’re too shy and need to be outgoing for that.” Unfortunately, they don’t realize live reporting is just one of the many careers under my major, not the only one.
